Mark Valderama is a former Instructor and honors graduate of the Massage Therapy program at Carrington College of California, graduating in 2004 with a 4.0 GPA. He is California State Certified by CAMTC (California Massage Therapy Council), is a professional member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals), is Adult & Infant CPR/AED certified from the Rescue Training Institute of the American Heart Association, and is certified in A.R.T. (Active Release Technique), F.A.K.T.R. (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab), and most recently in M.F.D. (Myo-Fascial Decompression).
Mark has been trained in several modalities, including but not limited to: Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Sports, Trigger Point, Swedish, Floor Shiatsu, Pre & Postnatal, Lymphatic Drainage, Assisted Stretching, A.R.T., F.A.K.T.R., and M.F.D.
Over the last 16 plus years, Mark has been working in the San Francisco Bay Area with numerous organizations where he has worked with some of the best medical professionals and multidisciplinary clinics dealing with patients ranging from professional athletes to retirees, and everyone in between who suffer from a wide array of conditions, injuries, and soft tissue dysfunctions.
Mark has worked with Athletic training staffs at both Stanford University and UC Berkeley. Mark provided preventative care and injury prevention education to the numerous athletes on campus using comprehensive and detailed manual therapy techniques to assist in the rehabilitation of injures, increased endurance, and maximize performance. In 2013, Mark was also selected to be part of the Medical team for Oracle Team USA during the America's Cup boat races, providing massage therapy for the sailing team.
Using a combination of his clinical knowledge and specific tissue manipulation techniques, Mark has helped hundreds of people deal with their nagging conditions ranging from ordinary sprain/strain injuries to work-related repetitive stress injuries to pre & post-surgical procedures.
